Position Description
Harris Ranch Beef Company - a family-owned, functionally integrated leader in premium, high quality beef - is searching for a passionate, highly motivated candidate to join their production team in the capacity of Processed Meats Production Manager. The Processed Meats Manager will be instrumental to the construction and subsequent commissioning of a state-of-the-art RTE facility. The individual will oversee production of an extensive portfolio of high quality, branded processed meat and poultry products. The successful candidate will demonstrate comprehension of and experience with:

Products – injected/smoked/cured whole muscle beef, pork and poultry roasts for deli and slicing; seasoned cook-in-the-bag products and emulsified proteins

Injection – brine preparation, yield & uptake calculation, etc.

Massaging/Marinating/Seasoning – familiar with equipment and processes unique to each product

Stuffing/Packing – demonstrate comprehension of stuffing effects on slicing yields

Cooking/Smoking – manage an efficient 24/7 cooking schedule with experience of wet/dry bulb cooking and natural smoke processes with understanding of equipment and Thermal Processing Authority

Chilling – exhibit knowledge of impact of chilling on quality and slicing yields

Packing – experience with the intricacies of RTE processes

The Manager will interface with key partners, Harris Ranch executives, QA, marketing, R&D, maintenance and sanitation to manage a department that consistently achieves expected product performance and production standards. The Manager will contribute to the maintenance of respective HACCP/SSOP/BRC programs. You will be responsible for enhancement of KPIs, setting goals and delegating responsibility to appropriate personnel.


Technical Skills and Qualifications
A BS/MS degree in Animal Science, Meat Science or Food Technology other related field preferred.

Minimum of five (5) years experience in processed meats production with at least two (2) years in a management role.

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of process improvements and technical developments.

Ability to author and document innovative production programs.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Position Description
The position of Stacker involves handling and stacking boxes of filled orders of meat product. Must be able to multi task and work alone. Will scan product into system as well as assign boxes to orders. Will wrap pallets and bins with shrink wrap. Load pallets onto trailers for delivery to wholesale/retail stores.


Position Requirements
Qualified candidates must be able to lift and carry (approximately 67 pounds). Boxes can average from 18 to 110 pounds. Lower (this is performed approximately 600 to 1200 times per day), push, pull, and continual use of both hands/arms at waist level and sometimes at or slightly above shoulder height. The employee must read labels on the boxes coming down the conveyor line, which indicated the type of product and meat grade.

This position is Sunday through Friday. Night shift start time varies (30 hours guaranteed).

Sunday 3pm - ?, Monday to Friday start time varies.

Position Overview
The Food Safety Manager has the overall accountability of ensuring the food safety system at the plant is properly written, documented and implemented - thus ensuring the production of safe and wholesome products in addition to USDA and GFSI (BRC) compliance.

This position reports directly to the Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance and works with three other FS/QA Managers to oversee and lead the Food Safety/Quality Assurance team.

This position will oversee and improve the Food Safety and Regulatory programs associated with the production of intact and non-intact beef products.


Food Safety System and Regulatory Compliance
The Food Safety Manager assures all Food Safety and Regulatory programs are appropriately designed and implemented to produce safe, wholesome products.

The Food Safety Manager must make scientifically defendable decisions, which ensure USDA and BRC compliance, but does not result in unjustified decreases in operational productivity or efficiency.

The Food Safety Manager must have the ability to quickly and thoroughly investigate a product/process failure to determine root cause and take appropriate corrective actions. Thus bringing the system back into compliance while minimizing product exposure and production down time.

The Food Safety Manager drives the daily Food Safety culture among the Production departments, which keeps the company prepared for third party and BRC audits.

This position’s main area of responsibilities will include the fabrication, grinding, and portioning of fresh beef products, including microbiological testing.


Employee Training and Personnel Management
The Food Safety/Quality Assurance Management team provides solid leadership along with the design and delivery of effective food safety training to a very diverse employee base.

The Food Safety/Quality Assurance Management team is responsible for fostering a rewarding team environment that includes HR responsibilities, performance plans/reviews, and work assignments/schedules of over 35 Quality Assurance staff members.


Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Animal Science or related field from four-year college or university and 2-4 years of experience in the meat industry and processes; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

GFSI and HACCP Certification

Knowledge and understanding of meat/food science and associated microbiology

Knowledge of USDA, FSIS, HACCP, and SSOP requirements.

Job Responsibility & Summary
Will perform a combination of tasks in meat processing facility. Tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

Remove bones, and cut meat into standard cuts for market.

Cut, trim, skin, sort, and wash viscera of slaughtered animals to separate edible portions from offal.

Eviscerate, and trim carcasses of slaughtered animals.

Tend assembly lines, performing a few of the many cuts needed to process a carcass.

Use tools and machinery including, but not limited to, knives, wrap products, scales, grinders, and other hand or power tools.


Qualifications
Routine tasks include, but are not limited to, performing the following:

Ability to work in temperatures less than or equal to 35 degrees Fahrenheit temperature for minimum of 8 hours.

Position Summary

Position Description
Harris Ranch Inn & Restaurant is seeking a creative and highly motivated individual to manage production and the creation of dessert menu items in our high volume bakery.


Desired Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of high-volume bakery production experience

Bakery food cost experience

Recipe development and conversion

3-5 years Supervisory experience

3 years of baking and pastry experience

Culinary School Graduate a plus.

Past ownership of a Bakery also beneficial.


Benefits and Salary

This is a new position being created to manage and oversee the company’s regulatory compliance efforts related to requirements imposed by agencies such as the Air Pollution Control District, California Air Resource Board, EPA and the adherence to Federal, State and County permitting and reporting requirements for AST’s, UST’s SPCC, RMP, HMBP, etc.

Experience and knowledge in the above listed categories is a must.

This position must have a valid CA driver’s license and will require local travel to sites in Selma, Coalinga, and Bakersfield area.

Position Summary/Description
Exercise Riders must have experience working with and starting young horses.

Knowledge of general handling of horses is required.

Must be a team player, exhibiting leadership and time management.


Duties and Responsibilities
Riding, lunging, driving and other ground work.

Rider will be asked to work with up to twelve horses daily. The present daily average is ten horses.

This is not a training position unless specified at hiring.

Rider must be motivated, reliable, have strong work ethics and have the ability to be a team player.

Body weight of no more than 160 lbs. preferred.
