Harris Ranch Beef and our ranching partners have a personal stake in the quality of the environment and are continually looking for ways to improve it. We are committed to taking care of the wellbeing of our livestock while maintaining our natural resources in the process. Harris Ranch Beef Company has a personal stake in the quality of the environment. That’s why we proudly share the results of a study published recently in the journal Agricultural Systems entitled Environmental Footprints of Beef Cattle Production in the United States.
The report documents the most comprehensive beef cattle lifecycle assessment ever completed. With research conducted by the USDA’s Agricultural Research Service and The Beef Checkoff, the assessment was designed to scientifically quantify the sustainability of U.S. beef production. The results show widely accepted measures related to beef cattle’s impact in the U.S. are often overestimated.
